As an interior designer for over 25 years, I am passionate about designing model homes, new and existing homes, office spaces, remodels of homes, and staging resale properties.
Clarifying the vision of my clients and meeting their goals and aspirations for their project is my heart's desire. The trust my clients put in my ability to meet their needs is my highest motivation.
My 10 years with Saddleback Interiors (Palazzo-Benedict) in Corona Del Mar, California, afforded me the opportunity to design model homes for builders such as J.M. Peters, Standard Pacific, Akins Development, Shea Homes, California Pacific, and Western National Homes, and also do several private residences.
As the in-house designer (Signature Interiors) for Vintage Communities of Irvine, California, for 11 years, I was part of a team that created residential communities throughout California. I had the opportunity to work along side the president of our company to clarify and refine the details of his vision for each community. I was part of the development of each floor plan from first footprints of each home to complete set of architectural drawings. Our design and build team included our construction vice president, marketing vice president, consulting architects, consulting landscape architects, as well as the president of Vintage Communities. Together, we created residential communities such as Hidden Valley, Hidden Park, Vezelay, Sycamore Canyon, The Oaks at Calabasas, and Santa Barbara Ranch. I space planned and designed all the model homes for our company.
Our goal at Vintage Communities was to create beautiful communities with homes that provided floor plans that were easy to furnish, spaces that provided lots of natural light and pleasant views, and functioned the way people live. I made sure there was adequate space for entertainment systems, furniture, storage, etc. We provided amenities that were sophisticated yet relaxed. The interior of each model was designed to welcome you home, provide comfort, elegance, and value as well as efficiency of space and use.
Overall, designing for me is about my client. I want to understand my clients' vision and goals in order to create their picture in my mind. I want to see what they want but are unable to explain, or maybe they are not even sure of yet. Their design is refined with them through the use of pictures, fabric swatches, paint chips, and various other samples and drawings until we arrive at something they are happy and excited about.
I believe people can have environments that bring them joy, function, and as many other qualities they seek.
Appreciating the uniqueness of each of my clients and expressing that uniqueness is my design goal. Helping people get what they can't express in words is what it's all about for me. Beauty, comfort, function, health, fun and laughter, light, efficiency of use, and everything else that is important to them is the ultimate goal.
